Safety

R & K Excavation is committed to providing a safe jobsite for our employees. A comprehensive safety manual covers all aspects of earthmoving, utility installation, and blasting. Each employee receives and acknowledges receipt of this manual during an employee orientation process at time of hire. A safety manager conducts monthly meetings at each jobsite. Jobsite superintendents conduct weekly “tool box” talks about general safety issues and any job specific issues. Jobsites are monitored by the safety manager for any potential items that may need attention. Superintendents have the authority to correct any negligent situation as they may occur, or have the potential to occur. Operators and laborers are required to wear and use personnel protective equipment as outlined by OSHA and the R & K Safety Manual.
